Only two hours ago we had watched and videoed a new adult bee emerging from the cocoon stage. Her first duty as a new adult bee was to clean out the cell where she grew from an egg and to make it ready for the Queen to use again. As luck would have it, when we returned to look for something else exciting to record, along came the Queen and proceeded to lay a new egg in that very cell. This new video catches her just as she has finished and is withdrawing her abdomen from the cell. And so the cycle continues.
